Free COI reader

Upload a certificate of insurance (ACORD 25 PDF, or a photo of one). You'll see the insured, each policy, its limits and expiration date, and whether it meets the minimums you set.

Private: the certificate is read on your device, in your browser. It is not uploaded, sent or stored anywhere. Best-effort: this is an automatic read. Always double-check the results against the certificate itself before relying on them.

Have more than one certificate?

Send us up to 10 certificates and we'll check them free: expirations, limits and gaps, in one PDF report. No card, no account. Want it handled every month? COI chasing is $49/month: we read every certificate, track expirations and send one renewal request when a policy is within 30 days of expiring.

How it works

For PDFs with a text layer (most certificates emailed by agents), the reader pulls the text with pdf.js. For scanned PDFs and photos it runs OCR (tesseract.js) in your browser, which takes 10 to 30 seconds on a phone and is less accurate. It looks for the standard ACORD 25 fields: producer, insured, insurers A to F, and each coverage row's policy number, dates and limits.

What it can't tell you

It can't confirm a policy is actually in force (call the agent or carrier for that), and it doesn't read endorsements, additional-insured wording or the description box. Unusual layouts, handwriting and blurry photos may be misread or missed. Anything marked "not read" needs a manual look.
